Willard H. A. Pike was born in York County, Maine on January 24, 1854. His forebears came to America before the Revolutionary War. He was educated at Oxford Military Academy in England, Bowdoin College in Maine, and studied law with Ayres & Clifford, prominent Maine attorneys. He came to Nevada in 1874 and taught school in Washoe County, while he continued his law studies.
For many years, he was known for his work as an educator and was Churchill County Superintendent of Schools in 1878. During his residence in Churchill County, he was sent three times to the state assembly, 1883, 1885, and 1887, and represented Washoe County in the state assembly in 1893. In 1900, he was elected District Attorney of Washoe County. In 1907, he was elected District Judge and served through 1910.
He married Ida Kenyon in Virginia City, Nevada, on January 1st, 1877. Judge Pike died on November 18th, 1910.
